Review: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Recently, I’ve been on a lipstick kick. I don’t really do much to my lips, and sometimes I even forget to moisturize or put chapstick on which leaves my lips looking very dry and uneven. Unfortunately, even though I have some pretty awesome lipsticks, the product ends up on my teeth or feathers around my lips, and when I’m at work, I don’t notice (and end up embarrassing myself) or I don’t have the time to touch up.

Of course, I could just use a long-wear lip product, which a few days ago, I tried looking for more of at Ulta. The ones I found were not the price I was wanting to pay, or in the colors I wanted. Then I happened to stumble upon these: Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream.

It’s not gloss, and it’s not a lipstick. But it applies like you would a gloss, with the texture of a lipstick. It’s matte, meaning there is no shine or shimmer, which I highly prefer (personal preference). It is not a long-wear product, but having worn it, the way it dries on my lips, the color doesn’t budge as much as a lipstick would for me.

The 3 colors I purchased are (pictured l-r) Antwerp, San Paulo, and Addis Ababa.

Antwerp is a cute peachy pink color, San Paulo is more rosey while Addis Ababa is a great fun magenta color. The colors are very opaque, just like a lipstick would be!

Needless to say, I LOVE this product and highly recommend it. Even though it’s not meant as a long-wear lip product, it does stay put pretty well. It may rub off when drinking/eating, but the package is small and convenient enough that you can throw it in your bag and reapply whenever you need to. If it does end up feeling too dry on your lips, just put some chapstick or gloss right over it, and you’re set.

My First Post!

Hello readers! So, I’ve been thinking about this blog for a tiny while now, and voila, here it is… my little beauty blog. Nothing fancy, so please bare with me! I’m not necessarily very good at this, lol.

Anyways, the reason why I wanted to make this blog was because whenever I buy something and I really like it, I can’t wait to share it with others. So what better way to make a blog where I can go in depth about products, give you a better idea of what’s out there, where you can find it, and how the product works.

And because I’m a shop-a-holic, I may do some hauls. I’m a sucker for a good bargain!

I hope you enjoy! And I hope I can keep this up. :)
